Your New Journey to Financial Freedom Starts Today
Hi, my name is Meltrice and let me first welcome you to my blog. This is our space (yes, you and me!) to connect and to share key financial insights as we build our financial legacy together.
I want to introduce you to my world of financial freedom and the tools, strategies, and resources you need to reach your goals.
I know that talking about our finances is not the sexiest topic, but most of us have not been taught the importance of properly managing our finances and leveraging money as a tool to create wealth and achieve financial satisfaction.
So, it’s my ultimate goal to help you identify some root causes to common financial challenges and how you can move beyond them.
Because the truth is…
Money is seldom the real problem when we experience money issues. It instead is a symptom of a much bigger issue.
When you see your finances as an obstacle, there is usually 1 of 3 key things at play:
- Perspective problem – If you have a perspective problem, you’ll most likely say things like; “money is the root of all evil”, “money is not everything”, “money can’t buy me happiness”, or that “some people care too much about money.”
While there is some truth in all of these statements, we all know that money is essential to a productive and abundant life. However, many times how we view money is a byproduct of how our parents viewed money, but please know that we can always choose to adjust our perspective around money. - People problem – If you have a people problem, you’ll most likely say things like, “my kids will be angry if I don’t buy them this”, “I have to have this”, “Everybody has one” – and the list goes on. Or, you might succumb to the “YOLO” (you only live once) mindset which could walk you into making a bad financial decision that will have a lasting negative effect on some area of your life. People and relationships are the common denominator in all of our lives. Some of our relationships are beneficial to our financial health and some of them can be devastating. If you notice that the people around you are encouraging you to make bad money decisions, then it may be time to distance yourself from anyone not adding to your life and holding you accountable to transforming your financial future.
- Process problem – This is the easiest of the 3 to correct. This is simply not knowing what to do or where to start. We were never taught how to manage our money, but it is your responsibility to seek out knowledge and resources that will educate, empower, and hold you accountable to achieving the financial goals you establish for yourself.
So, the powerful question becomes: Where are you in your money journey?
I’m always here to help and I invite you to visit my blog often for new insights, tools, and strategies to live your life in abundance and on your own terms!
